Samsung Announces New Programme to Improve Smartphone Repairability
In a press release on its Korean newsroom site, Samsung stated (translated from Korean), “Samsung Electronics Service is spreading its world-class service capabilities overseas[..]Samsung Electronics Service began operating the ‘Domestic Service Experts Overseas Dispatch’ program as a regular program this year.”
Focus on Global Service Capabilities
The programme aims to address the difference in repair service quality between South Korea and other countries. Samsung’s global service capabilities will concentrate on enhancing repairs and customer consultations to provide a better user experience.
Expansion of Expertise
As part of the initiative, a “Galaxy service expert instructor” was sent to Samsung Electronics India to share knowledge with the service teams. The focus was on transferring expertise in single-piece repair, particularly at India’s mobile screen repair center (MSRC).
Future Plans
Samsung intends to broaden the programme’s focus beyond smartphones to include other devices. Next month, a home appliance and TV service specialist instructor will be sent to the Philippines to train local workers on AI home appliances.
