Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud Enter Collaboration to Deliver Cloud Solutions

Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud have announced a long-term collaboration aimed at providing cloud solutions to Indian businesses and promoting the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology in the country.

Key Highlights

Airtel will offer cloud managed services to over 2,000 large enterprises and one million emerging businesses, as per the telecom operator’s regulatory filing.

The companies are targeting the Indian public cloud services market, expected to reach $17.8 billion by 2027, according to IDC research.

Airtel and Google Cloud will leverage their connectivity and AI technology strengths to develop innovative AI/ML solutions, focusing on geospatial analytics, voice analytics, and marketing technology.

Airtel has developed an end-to-end IoT solution for the utility sector, combining Google Cloud services for seamless deployment.

A managed services center has been set up in Pune with over 300 experts to drive adoption of Google Cloud services and develop technology solutions.

Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO of Bharti Airtel, stated, “As India accelerates its digital transformation, cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions will be crucial. We are excited to partner with Google Cloud to address this market opportunity and deploy gen AI solutions.”

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, highlighted the significance of the collaboration in accelerating cloud and AI adoption in India, aiming to enhance customer experiences.

Airtel plans to leverage Google Cloud’s gen AI capabilities to enhance customer interactions across its offerings and streamline internal processes, extending these capabilities to B2B customers in India and globally.
