Trai proposes compensation to consumers for call drops

Relief may be on its way for the nagging call drops with telecom regulator Trai seeking suggestions for compensating customers for deficient services on mobile phones. Not charging for dropped calls or providing free calling minutes were suggestions made by regulator in a consultation paper for which it is seeking comments.

India’s tele-density reached 76.55%, with the total subscriber base reaching 957.61 million that includes 569.56 million in urban and 388.05 million in rural regions, data on the sector regulator’s website showed.
