Exciting news from Claro Colombia! Over a million postpaid customers are now enjoying the blazing-fast speeds of 5G. This announcement was made during the Claro Tech Summit, showcasing the impressive progress in 5G adoption. The company recently launched 5G services in Barranquilla, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, and Medellin.

“We are thrilled to reach this milestone in 5G adoption in the country. Our goal is to expand coverage to 14 more cities by the end of 2024, making it a total of 20 cities. Stay tuned as we will soon introduce 5G prepaid packages, so more customers can enjoy the benefits of faster speeds and enhanced experiences,” shared Claro Colombia.
5G Data Traffic
It’s impressive to note that 6% of mobile data traffic in 5G-enabled areas is already on 5G. As of March 2024, 2.2 million customers have 5G-compatible phones, and Claro leads with 9 out of 10 5G sites in Colombia. Customers in these areas can access 5G Network experiences starting at COP 39,900 a month.
Business Solutions
In addition to consumer services, Claro also introduced 5G-based solutions for businesses, assisting them in digital transformation across energy, mining, ports, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
4G Network and Fiber Expansion
Beyond 5G, Claro is dedicated to enhancing connectivity. They recently deployed fiber infrastructure in Socorro, benefiting over 7,348 premises and further strengthening their 4G and 4.5 Networks in the area.
