Vedanta Limited announced on Wednesday that its display glass business is poised for a significant expansion, projected to grow tenfold. This growth follows the consolidation of its holding in AvanStrate Inc., a notable Japanese display glass manufacturer. Earlier in May, Vedanta Ltd. confirmed the acquisition of an additional 46.57 percent stake in AvanStrate Inc., bringing its total ownership to approximately 98 percent.

According to the official release, AvanStrate Inc. is now fully managed and controlled by Vedanta Limited and operates without any external debt.

The release emphasized that ASI is positioned to spearhead innovation and expansion in the high-tech display and glass substrate manufacturing arena. It aims to bolster its role in the global electronics and display industry while enhancing its research and development capabilities, developing advanced technologies, and expanding production capacity to meet the increasing global demand.

Technological Leadership

With production facilities located in Taiwan and Korea, alongside its R&D headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, AvanStrate Inc. has a longstanding reputation for producing cutting-edge Gen 4 to Gen 8 TFT LCD (thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display) glass substrates. These substrates are essential for the production of various electronic displays including televisions, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables.

Moreover, with over 700 patents to its name, AvanStrate has firmly established itself as a leader in the global display technology market.
