The project will contribute to seamless high-speed connectivity in rural and smaller towns within the district.
Airtel’s Rural Enhancement Project
Under its Rural Enhancement Project (REP), Airtel is expanding network coverage in various parts of India. The recent network densification in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is part of this initiative. The company aims to enhance network connectivity in 60,000 villages by 2024, with 1600 villages and 355 towns in Kerala being covered.
Airtel’s Connectivity in Kerala’s Districts
The REP includes expanding network coverage across all 14 districts of Kerala to increase network capacity and extend services to rural and unconnected areas. The addition of fresh fiber capacity will cater to the growing demand for high-speed data services in the region.
Moreover, hill stations in Wayanad, Idukki, and Pathanamthitta have also seen improvements in network connectivity. Airtel assures that popular tourist destinations in Kerala, from hill stations to beaches, will now experience an enhanced network footprint.
