MEF Launches GEN14 Certified Professionals Convention

MEF1The MEF announces that it is launching the industry’s first dedicated event for Carrier Ethernet professionals – the MEF Certified Professionals Convention, which will take place on the first day of the MEF’s Global Ethernet Networking 2014 event ( that will be held during 17-20 November 2014 at the Gaylord National in Washington, DC.
The Convention will be a day-long event with a series of sessions designed for and led by MEF Certified Professionals with an emphasis on usage of Carrier Ethernet in industry vertical markets, as well as the latest developments in MEF specifications and a role play session focused on the interaction of buyers and sellers of Wholesale Ethernet services. Two MEF Accredited Training Providers (MEF-ATPs) – Fujitsu Network Communications and Perpetual Solutions – will play leading roles in the Convention. Fujitsu is a Gold Sponsor of GEN14, and Perpetual Solutions is a Silver Sponsor. These companies join more than 40 other service providers and technology solution providers who have already confirmed their sponsorship of GEN14.

The MEF is also announcing the fact that over 2,200 professionals from 257 organizations in 62 countries have now achieved MEF-CECP/MEF-CEP 2.0 certification since the program’s launch three years ago. The number of certified professionals has nearly tripled in the last 12 months alone. The MEF-CECP 2.0 certification is achieved by professionals with a range of disciplines – most notably sales engineers, product managers, networking engineers, and network architects.
