BSNL seeks franchisees for 3G services: Chair

Indian state-run telecoms firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will shortly seek expressions of interest for franchisees for its third-generation (3G) wireless services, Chairman Kuldeep Goyal said on Wednesday.

Goyal also said the firm would have have 4 million 3G users by March 2011, up from 1.3 million currently. BSNL, which has about 72 million subscribers, is India’s fourth-largest mobile phone operator. Source
